Part-Time Director of Children's Ministry Sought

 

Goal Statement of the Children’ Ministry Director: “We want CCC to be the Church our Kids bring their Friends to.  We want CCC to be the church about which parents are excited because of the Christian Education and Spiritual Nurture their children receive."

 

Community Christian Church is actively searching for an organized, self motivated, dynamic, person who is a team player, willing to delegate and loves working with Children and Families in a Christian setting. The Successful Candidate will be able to work with Children aged 5^th grade and lower, and their Parents.   The Children’s Ministry Director will have a passion about getting Children excited about God, be creative and willing to develop new programs for Children and Families of the Church. This person will also be flexible to meet the needs of the Children, Families and Congregation of Community Christian Church and will need to work closely with parents, willing to help organize volunteers for events, be creative with programs that will keep bring new families to the church. 

 

The Director of Children’s Ministry will be a Key member of the ministerial team at CCC. This person will work closely with Sr. Pastor in order to fulfill the Mission of the Congregation. This position will report directly to the Sr. Pastor and will meet with a Personal Committee for a review after 90 Days and annually after that. 

 

Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Working with the Children and families of the Congregation by:

-        Planning and overseeing the Sunday School Curriculum for 5^th grade level and below

-        Preparing and Teaching Sunday School (not necessarily on a regular basis)

-        Recruit and Coordinate and train volunteers and teachers for all 9am and 10 am and Nursery Helpers

-        Purchase supplies, snacks, materials for Sunday School, nursery and any special events within llotted budget

-        Oversee and actively participate in the Vacation Bible School Program

-        Plan, lead, and advertise any special events, including any Church Family Functions

-        Lead and organize Christian Children’s Fellowship program

-        Update Church Bulletin Board, write articles in Church Newsletter to keep members up to date on the                family and children events

-        Coordinate activates/planning with the Youth Director, Children’s Choir Director, Children’s Bell Choir      Director

-        Meet regularly with Church Staff, including SR Pastor, attend Board Meetings and Christian Education      Meetings

 

Hours must be flexible to accommodate special events, and church functions. Community Christian Church also reserves the right to amend this position based on the needs and growth of the Children’s program and church. This person will have theological views that are compatible with the characteristics of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Remember, “We CCC to be the Church that our Kids bring their friends to!”
